Giraffes have a unique way of walking in which they move both legs on one side of their bodies and then both legs on the other. This is unusual compared to other animals. However, they can run in a similar way as other mammals, moving their hind legs and front legs at the same time. Giraffes can reach speeds of up to 55 km per hour, but only in short sprints.
